A Breakthrough in Home Security

Catrina Caforio, Asia Stawicka, and James White

Introduction

Although people believed that they are safe in their homes,  the invention of the electric burglar alarm has dramatically improved safety of our homes and has distinguished the difference between public and private areas. Safety is important to everyone currently living in the early 20th century, as well as personal space and valuables. In order to make sure these things are properly protected, burglar alarms must be installed in homes across the globe.

Holmes, known as the "Father of the Burglar Alarm Industry," made improvements to Augustus Pope's burglar alarm, leading to our current alarm system. This amazing piece of technology uses electricity in order to set off the high-tech alarm and notify the police of a burglar.
